Mr. Kubasiak practices in the areas of corporate, municipal and administrative law and governmental relations, providing counsel to corporate clients on transactional and litigation matters effecting business organizations, operations and management. He has extensive experience working with City of Chicago departments and agencies and City Council committees. He represents clients engaged in business and development transactions with state and local government agencies, boards and commissions, including the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board. Mr. Kubasiak has been recognized by his peers as an Illinois "Leading Lawyer," among the upper five percent of all Illinois lawyers who practice in the following categories: Closely and Privately Held Business Law and Governmental, Municipal, Lobbying and Administrative Law.

Mr. Kubasiak began his professional career with the law firm of Winston & Strawn in Chicago in 1981, and was a member of its corporate practice section until 1983, engaged in the practice of general corporate and securities matters, including mergers and acquisitions and tax-exempt debt financing. Prior to that, he was employed by the City of Chicago (1974-1981), serving as the First Deputy Comptroller and First Assistant Budget Director. Mr. Kubasiak also served as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Chicago City Council Committee on Finance (1983-1987). In that capacity, he served as legal counsel and financial advisor to the Committee and the City Council. Upon completion of service, he was honored by a Resolution of the City Council and Mayor Harold Washington for his outstanding service. Mr. Kubasiak was a member of Joyce & Kubasiak, P.C. from 1987-1993, and served as counsel to the Illinois State Treasurer (1987-1994) for general administrative matters and investment practices, policies, and transactions, and as State of Illinois special counsel for the Illinois Home Ownership Made Easy Program and the Illinois Insured Mortgage Pilot Program. He is one of the founding members of Kubasiak, Fylstra, Thorpe & Rotunno, P.C.
